What opportunity looks like after practical exposure.

These stories were shared by people whose early workplace opportunities helped them move into lasting roles. Their words have been edited only for clarity and to keep the focus on the academy’s contribution.

“Eliashib gave me my first opportunity in the field as a newly qualified Extraction Metallurgy graduate with no industry experience. The hands-on, practical exposure provided a foundation that no classroom could replace. That experience made a direct difference: it helped me secure a position at Samancor Western Chrome Mine, one of the major operators in the industry. I am deeply grateful for the academy’s mentorship, the confidence it placed in me as a young graduate, and its commitment to developing new talent for the industry.”

The structured mentorship and hands-on experience were instrumental in my development and ultimately helped me transition into a permanent role as a Plant Operator at Samancor Chrome. The academy’s guidance gave me a strong foundation for my career, and I remain grateful to the team for investing in my professional growth.”
